Fun with flashes

Was out having some fun with my new flashes at the Ramp the other day.
Sterling was on hand to provide the action.

Backside flip
Cant remember flip.. but looks gewd..
Finally to finish it off, Sterling went all out and landed a sweet kickie back tail..

A whole lotta love..

Lots of good skating has been going down all over town in the past few months..
Here is a quick peak into what the boys from the Tong Tong Family have been up to of late..

We'll start off with the all too familiar spot of the Rama 8 bridge.
We made several trips out there, here's what went down..

Tony started it with some rail action..

He then turned his eye to a gap which he promptly began testing..

Karl approved...

Another day meant a return to the spots and with a new-found vigor, the shredding began..

Mark started it off with a sweet Pop-shove nose grind...

And Sterling followed with a well earned Heelflip 5-0

Having decided to give the metal ledge a rest, a new spot was found and waters tested..

Mark gets excited and forgets how narrow those steps are...

Lesson learned the fun began...

NOTE: For frame by frame control and viewing, just right-click and select forward/backward... Enjoy!!

Stay tuned, more action coming your way soon..

First Attempt

Since this would be the real first post, i figured its best to start with my first real attempt to shoot a sequence.
I apologise in advance for the quality of the pictures, it was my first time.
Some of the crew came out to session this little marble installation near the Pink skate park.

First up were the ledges - Bom & Cliff tore them up, there was more than enough room for the two of em.
That ledge has a fun shape to it, would be fun to go back there.

The shrubs liked Bom's board, almost kept it.

After the ledges came the stair set, with a landing thats a lot tougher than it looks.
Roger, Bom and Levi sprung into action.

Once more, unto the breach.

Roger found out first hand (pardon the pun) how rough the ground was.

Bom also found out. It was worth it in the end tho.

Bom caught that Pop-Shove perfectly. Levi was stoked.

So stoked in fact that he went bonkers. First busting out this huge ollie into a ledge thats about 9 inches wide.

And then he went on to go for the Kickflip into the ledge, which as you can probably guess, didnt go down well....

Yea, thats foot in a marble gutter. Ouch. End of session .
Do i smell a redemption in the works... ?

Levi's big finger.

So that was that day. My first real attempt to shoot a skate session.
Out of that first session came my first sequence. Levi's buttery FS Bigspin. This is a re-edit of the original.
Biggie. All butter.

Stay tuned for more and dont forget to subscribe!!!

And so it begins....

The urban environment is built using mostly logic and has its own practical purpose. But human nature is not totally logical, and humans are not completely practical. Skateboarding is expressive. It is in essence a reinterpretation of the environment. Sidewalks, streets, curbs, ledges, rails, walls, banks, ditches, all have their own practical purpose, but their form is such that it can be used as an expressive tool. Skateboarding allows us to emotionally engage with our man-made environment. In the same way that surfers compete with nature, skateboarders compete with the design of our modern environment. It is a critique of human accomplishments by the human spirit. - Trevor Burks

This is my attempt to document these exploits, to bring forth the emotional engagements that the city of Bangkok has to offer in their fullest.
